After releasing his latest album «C’est la vie», Phosphorescent (or namely Matthew Houck) paid a visit to Oslo on a rainy Monday evening at Rockefeller. I guess people all know him for his famous song, Song for Zula, however he has done much more than that in the past years. From the way he looks and acts on stage, it’s obvious that he enjoys his life and enjoys performing his music. Simple, clean, acoustic.

Ethereal dimensions

It’s obvious that he enjoys his life and enjoys performing his music.

His soft, laid back Americana-style of music, mixed with his orchestral band with two drums and an agile keyboard player, carries the country music genre to an ethereal dimensions. When he comes back for the encore to play Song for Zula, he jumps from the stage into the front row and sings the song while handshaking with the audience. All in all it was a cozy monday evening show, that could have benefitted from lasting a little longer.
